Weekly Goals 3/3

The week started off with a busy Sunday trying to make up for all the things that I didn't get done on Friday and Saturday due to my limited capabilities from my bout of sickness.  The great news is that I had a great week plan with lots of fun things to do for both my little man and myself.  The next week is going to be busy with my mother in law in town and lots to do during the week.

Last Week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family- We had a great week together and even though my little man went to bed early a few nights, he still got lots of time with Daddy which is always the time he loves!
  • Get to preschool on time- As much as he loves school, getting him to stop what he is doing and get out of the door is sometimes a fight.  We have a new tradition this week but at least it worked to get him out the door.  I make him cinnamon and sugar toast and he eats it in the car.  Not to say that he hadn't already eaten breakfast every morning but he decided that if the car was going, he could eat his toast.  I hope that this isn't the tradition every day because it is hard enough to make it out the door without making toast while trying to get him in his jackets and shoes!!!
  • Bilingual storytime- This was our first one that we could make it to and it was good even though not exactly what I expected.  They read the books in English and Spanish and taught the kids a few different emotions.  My son was really into it when he was there and I tried working on the words later but he didn't seem interested.  I guess we will see if they come up later :)
  • Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity and storytime- My son had a great time at the storytime because he loved this book.  We fished for letters in his name and then spent hours at the library reading books.  We brought back most of the books that we read and I am sure are going to be reading more again soon.
  • Playtime at a friends house- We left the library with a quick stop at the store on the way to a friends house.  They had a great time playing with a quick stop to run to the playground outside and then bubbles where mommies froze and kids were so excited to be out in the fresh air.  We left super late and didn't get home until it was time to start preparing dinner.  Luckily, I had most of the stuff ready and got the rest ready before my little guy was under foot.
  • Playtime with friends (location to be determined)- We went to go visit a friend for lunch and playing (more playing then lunching) after school one day.  My little guy had so much fun that he was a sweaty mess by the time that I got him home.  That was the night he fell asleep on the couch and we couldn't wake him up and actually put him straight into bed.
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons (if I get them)- I checked another library last week and there were only the one page inserts in the paper so I got a few of them but I didn't even bother to make their own envelope.  I will probably put them in with my personal care folder.
  • Get coupons at library on Friday or find a new place to get them- I went on Friday to check on the papers and they weren't there yet but luckily, my little man wanted to stay and read a few books.  When we were done reading and checking everything out, there was a small stack of papers so I got my pile.
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I did keep the computer shut off and resting most nights and I am trying to be better about shutting it down during the day but I like to open the computer and be able to do something really quickly.  I am going to have to get used to waiting :)
  • Finish reading Blue Screen by Robert Parker- Finished and review is written
  • Start last Sunny Randall novel- I can't believe it is the last one but I read it and the review is posted.
  • Foot MRI to check for toe damage :(- I thought that was going to be harder than it was but luckily it all went off without a hitch.  I guess we will see what the doctor says soon.
  • More Super Doubles- I got lots of deals at Super Doubles and am super happy to see it over!  It is exhausting going back to the store and hoping for them to stock the shelves but super glad to get to take advantage of the deals and get a few rain checks to get some more stuff when the shelves are stocked.
  • Get chicken at Aldi's meat sale on Wednesday- I stopped at Harris Teeter on the way and then went to Aldi's to get the chicken.  I grabbed six big packages so we are going to have lots of chicken.  I was really glad to see that they still had some left.  There were only a few more left in the bin so I feel really bad for the other people but I drove so far that I didn't want to waste it.  Now I have lots of chicken to cut so that I can get get the fridge totally back before we have company!!!
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- The kitchen was cleaned up most of the week.  With the exception of the floor which seems to get more and more dirty.  I think that I need to be a neater cook :)  I will try not to spill as much so that I don't have to be on my hands and knees every day cleaning up the mess :)
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- I cleaned up a whole pile of dishes on Tuesday morning.  I am not sure how we made so many dishes but even after cleaning up after dinner with my sister in law and her boyfriend, I cleaned for a long time.  Luckily, that made dinner clean up easy on Tuesday night and my husband cleaned all the dishes.  Then, I decided to make kettle corn and made another pot dirty!  My husband got everything cleaned up on Thursday night too.  It is a much better morning when there aren't piles of dishes :)
  • Clean triangle cupboard with all my son's stuff- Done!  It was a lot of rearranging and my husband thought he would revolt but he did a great job of finding things and being okay with the new cupboard.
  • Clean cabinet over fridge- It took the ladder from the basement to get it done and a lot of trips up and down but it cleaned and rearranged.  I put a few things up there from other cabinets and I am super happy with how it turned out.  I might have to make a few more changes but I am glad that there is room for it now.
  • Clean freezer- I cleaned out the gunk in the bottom of the freezer in the kitchen.  It was super sticky in pull out tray and now it is sparkly.  I also bent myself into a pretzel and cleaned under the pull out tray which is hard to reach but was dirty.  Now it looks brand new :)
  • Cut up chicken and package for freezer- I should have started on Friday since I knew how many things there were to do over the weekend but I just couldn't.  I barely got all the dishes done so I left it for Saturday.  Bad to procratinate but sometimes it is the only way to get through the week :)  I got as much done as I could on Saturday especially with the fact that I planned a trip to get my car looked at in the middle of the day at 10 am!!!  Oh well, better luck next weekend!
