I decided that I had to make Nutella Chocolate Chip Brownies because I had a serious chocolate need. These have been on my list forever and I still haven't made them. I saw these on Mommy Hates Cooking here which she posted in October 2011. Really, how could I be waiting this long to make these...forever. I was super happy to have a free morning to make these after waiting for so long.
I pulled out everything and I was super happy to see that I had 1/2 c of nutella so that I could make the recipe. The rest of the ingredients are things that I always have at the house (okay so I have had nutella in the house for awhile).
I mixed the dry ingredients in the bowl- flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
I measured the oil in the measuring cup and added the vanilla and eggs.
I dumped the wet ingredients into the bowl and used the spatula to get out the nutella. I mixed and mixed until it started to look like brownies.
I added the chocolate chips and mixed until incorporated. Then, I poured it into the greased 9 x 9 baker. I put it in the oven for 20 minutes and then checked. The edges looked good but the center hadn't set yet so I started the timer over to try for a few more minutes. I took it out when the whole top looked cooked but it was still a little not set but I know that overcooked brownies are the worst so I was hoping they would set up while they cooled.
Check out this finished product! I was super excited to try to get taste but I was waiting for them to cool a little (less than patiently and I had to eat a piece of chocolate while waiting).
I took a piece and it still wasn't solid :( Oh no, I decided to eat the edge and then put it back into the oven.
The second try produced brownies that we solid and good. They were super chewy and tasty. They were a little oily but it might be because they were twice baked brownies. I would try this recipe again and ty to see if I could do it right the first time but I highly recommend that you try them. Check out the original post and all the great recipes on Mommy Hates Cooking.
