A Score to Settle Book Review

I picked up lots of books but it seems that we are short on paper backs but this was at the top of the pile.  A Score to Settle by Kara Lennox was an interesting cover and I couldn't wait to find out what it was about.  I have been reading and picking out a lot of Amish books so I thought that it was time for a change.

Daniel Logan spent six years on death row for a crime he didn't commit. So for him, the justice system is…flawed. Since his release, he's dedicated himself to helping others wrongly convicted. Now his latest crusade pits him against star prosecutor Jamie McNair. Her staunch belief in this system makes freeing a man she put away seem insurmountable. Exactly the kind of challenge Daniel thrives on.  Digging into the case reveals disturbing similarities to his own arrest and conviction. Could the same murderer be at work? To his surprise he relies on Jamie to help free an innocent man and help Daniel escape his past. As they get closer to the truth, their attraction brings them together. Only, the stakes are higher than either realizes….

I wasn't sure that I understood what was going on at the beginning but quickly started to understand that Jamie McNair was arriving at Daniel Logan's house because her boss asked her to.  She was trying to the best job she could at her job although she didn't think that Daniel Logan was worth her time because he went to jail and was let out but not found innocent.  After quickly meeting Daniel, she decided that he was a rich stuck up person who must have bought his way out of jail but she quickly changes her tune.  Daniel is looking into a case that seems a lot like the one that put him in jail and trying to figure out if they are connected.  There is a surprising fact that turns the corner for Jamie and has her changing her feelings.  I know that you will love the path that this book takes when you pick it up.  I hope that you check out this book and enjoy it as much as I did.  I think that it was a refreshing change and super glad that I had it sitting on my shelf to get to read.  Hope that you enjoy it if you are adding it to your reading list.
