Menu Plan Monday 7/3

Monday- Grilled Chicken with white rice
Tuesday- BBQ at a Friends House (we are making corn bread and cookies)
Wednesday- Chicken fries, Buffalo Chicken, and homemade fries
Thursday- Pasta
Friday- Leftovers
Saturday- Leftovers/Leftovers
Sunday- Wendy's/??

Last week went pretty according to plan except we haven't cleaned out the fridge which I just realized that after being gone is a little gross to think how long the things were sitting there but we also don't have trash service because of the holiday so I had talked about emptying everything into a bag and freezing it.  I put chicken bones out after the last chicken and by the time the trash came we were a pretty stinky trash can :(  We normally have twice a week trash pick up which has never been a problem but there are sometimes when it doesn't work out that way.  What do you guys do in the hot summer months??

I am switching next week to have the whole week planned out and just pick the day that we are going to have what when we are in the mood.  My husband is taking vacation time so I am trying to my best to get a plan in place that is super flexible based on the weather, time at the pool, time out of the house and time in the house.  Here is hoping that it works out well but I have both lunches and dinners planned for the week.  Here is hoping next week goes as well as planned!!  I did go grocery shopping so we should have enough of everything including boneless chicken and ground beef.  I also got a few treats for our vacation!!

Hope you guys have a yummy plan for this week and get to enjoy all of the meals!!

  1. We only have 1 trash pick up day a week and when the holiday falls on a Tuesday like tomorrow, they just switch it to Wednesday. I've stopped freezing the chicken bones because I just love the Better Than Bouillon so much better than my own chicken stock (I don't think I do it right, I'm not patient enough!) and since I get it for free with my Swagbucks gift card at Walmart, I decided to just not worry about it anymore. Plus, since I've started my new diet, I don't use much stock or broth anymore.
So we throw all the bones away and I suppose that the trash can might stink because of the heat but the odor doesn't seem to seep out of the bin (we keep it outside since we don't have a garage) so it's not a problem.

    1. UGH! We had a whole chicken that I butchered and I had to get rid of the rest of it but didn't even think about it when I put it out in the 100 degree heat in the can. I have never frozen trash but I was thinking that I should start at least in the summer. I tried and put it all in a bag but then it started leaking and I didn't want to stick that in the freezer so that I have to clean up after. We might be stinky again this week :( We keep ours outside even with a garage because the bins are the huge rolling ones and we have one for trash and one for recycling.

We sadly have so much chicken stock that I don't have to worry about making any more chicken broth but I did find another recipe for a beef broth which I don't have so I might have to pick up some of that Better Than Bouillon for the beef.

As long as I don't attract animals, I am sure we will be fine. We have a lot of fox and wild animals around so here is hoping that I can just keep putting trash outside :)
