Just One Kiss Book Review

I was starting on this book as soon as I was finished with the last book!!  Just One Kiss (Fool's Gold, Book 11) by Susan Mallery was the first book that I read for August.  I was starting it in July but didn't actually get it read in time because bedtime was so late so I didn't get started on the second half of the book until late!!  My husband started a movie which I wasn't interested in and promptly fell asleep on the couch so I was stuck to the tv watching it!!  I wish that I was strong enough to just shut things off but I am horrible so I didn't get to read much before falling asleep.

He won't hesitate to put his life on the line…but will he ever risk his heart?  Falling for Justice Garrett was a high point in Patience McGraw's otherwise awkward adolescence. Even after he disappeared, Patience never forgot the boy who captured her heart. Now he's back in Fool's Gold, California, and her passion for him is as strong as ever. But how can she trust that he won't abandon her again—and her daughter, too?

When bodyguard Justice Garrett was a young man, witness protection brought him to this idyllic town and he never forgot its warmth, or the sweet beauty of his childhood friend. He's returned to open a defense academy, and the Patience he once knew is all grown up. He can't resist her smile, or her curves. But Justice's past doesn't make him husband, or father, material.  Patience and Justice think they'll succumb to just one kiss… Then one more… Okay, just one night together. But they might learn that falling in love is beyond anyone's control.

Another great book in the Fool's Gold series.  Patience and her small family have made an appearance in other books before this but this is the great opportunity to get to know her.  She has led a tough life and after her husband left her with a new baby, she moved back in with her mother.  Although she has every reason to have a negative attitude, she is always positive.  The great part of the story comes when she has a chance to get ahead with an inheritance from her Great Aunt.  It leaves her enough to pay off the mortgage on the house, save for her daughters college and open her dream business which she has been planning for years.  It beats all of her expectations and she is very excited about this new addition to the town and how much more she gets to interact with all of the town members!!  Justice was also revealed a little more because of her relationship with Patience!  There are lots of ups and downs in their relationship in the background of the story which you have to pick up the book to find out what happens with them.  I hope you enjoy this newest book in the Fool's Gold series as much as I have.  Make sure you add it to your summer reading list!
