Almost Perfect Book Review

I was so excited that I got the first three books when I reserved the first book.  Almost Perfect (Fool's Gold, Book 2) by Susan Mallery was waiting when I finished the first book.  I was excited to see who they covered in this second book in the series of this great small town.

Back in high school, Liz Sutton was the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Then she'd stolen the heart of the most popular boy in town, and their secret romance helped her through the worst of times. Until Ethan Hendrix betrayed her and everything they'd ever meant to each other. Devastated and pregnant, Liz left Fool's Gold, California—forever, she thought…. Now Liz must return to town and face the man who doesn't know of their son's existence. And this time she won't have the option of making a quick getaway. Ethan and Liz can't deny their passionate attraction, even after all these years. But will their desire be enough to spark a second chance at love?

Jumping in and meeting a new character right off at the beginning of the story was great.  I wasn't sure exactly what was going to happen for Liz because she was very worried about returning to her hometown but I was totally cheering for her.  As the story goes on, you see how hard she has worked as a single mother to make a life for her son and you can't hope enough that she gets everything she wants and more.  But running into Ethan after all these years was hard and uncovering the truth was even more devastating.  I hope that you check out this book and others in the Fools' Gold series.  I have enjoyed them all and I hope that you do to!!
