A Girl's Guide to Moving On Book Review

I finished my last book and looked at my overwhelming pile of books on my side table by my bed.  I was thinking about where I should start when I decided that I would go with the book that was do back to the library soon and couldn't be renewed.  I had waited for ages for the reserve list on this one so I really didn't even know what it was about...if I ever did.  I love the Debbie Macomber books and I would read any of her series so I was happy when I got A Girl's Guide to Moving On: A Novel by Debbie Macomber.

When Nichole discovers that her husband, Jake, has been unfaithful, the illusion of her perfect life is indelibly shattered. While juggling her young son, a new job, and volunteer work, Nichole meets Rocco, who is the opposite of Jake in nearly every way. Though blunt-spoken and rough around the edges, Rocco proves to be a dedicated father and thoughtful friend. But just as their relationship begins to blossom, Jake wagers everything on winning Nichole back—including their son Owen’s happiness. Somehow, Nichole must find the courage to defy her fears and follow her heart, with far-reaching consequences for them all.

Leanne has quietly ignored her husband’s cheating for decades, but is jolted into action by the echo of Nichole’s all-too-familiar crisis. While volunteering as a teacher of English as a second language, Leanne meets Nikolai, a charming, talented baker from Ukraine. Resolved to avoid the heartache and complications of romantic entanglements, Leanne nonetheless finds it difficult to resist Nikolai’s effusive overtures—until an unexpected tragedy tests the very fabric of her commitments.  An inspiring novel of friendship, reinvention, and hope, A Girl’s Guide to Moving On affirms the ability of every woman to forge a new path, believe in love, and fearlessly find happiness.

LOVED IT!!  I finished it in less than 12 hours with very little sleep because I couldn't put it down.  As soon as I picked it up I was reminded of the last book with these characters and I was ready to find out what happens next.  Nichole and Leanne are trying to make their own new lives after they both divorced their husbands after they cheated on them.  What else did they have in common?  They are mother in law and daughter in law!!  Brought together to rebuild their lives, they decided to make a guide to moving on with your life including some helpful reminders to themselves to make sure that they stayed positive.  Living across the hall across from each other, they share their ups and downs in making their new lives.  I hope that you check out this book and others by Debbie Macomber because I know that you will enjoy them as much as I have!
