Weekly Goals 7/7

This has seemed like the longest week ever.  I know that we went out of town at the beginning which always makes it seem like a few days longer but getting back and doing all the clean up was overwhelming.  We had lots of laundry and even more putting everything away.  My husband had the week off so we were also trying to get a lot more done during the week then normal.  I was hoping that would make the week easier and I think that it did a lot so lets hope that we got lots done in our time.

My main goal was to defrost the freezer and I finally did it Saturday afternoon.  I got everything defrosted and mostly put back in place.  I was super happy to reach my goal and get it nice and clean to restock.  I am going to have to make a list of all the groceries that we need first.  Then, I am going to start my batch cooking and preparing to fill it all back up.  Watch out budget, here I come :)

Hope that you had a great week and I can't wait to hear about it!!

Last week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family at the beach- It rained the whole time that we were at the beach but we got to swim in the pool and my little man road the rides at the midway and played skee ball so I don't think that he even realized that he missed the fun of playing on the beach.  We got to have lots of quality time together.
  • See Groovy Nate- We all got to go:  Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and little man and we had fun.
  • Play with grandma and grandpa (maybe Burke Lake Park train, spray park and more)- We got to go to Burke Lake Park and do the train and merry go round in between rain storms.  We didn't get to go to the spray park because of the weather.  It didn't stop raining from the beginning of our vacation to the end.  Grandma and Grandpa took him to the stores on Wednesday and he picked out a lot of movies and toys and they bought him everything that he wanted.
  • Play at the playground- We played at Burke Lake playground but didn't get to a lot of others because the ground was super wet.
  • 4th of July BBQ with Aunt Kim- This didn't happen so we had our own make shift last minute BBQ so we grabbed the thin steak from the fridge and two baked potatoes.  I cooked it all up quickly so that we could still have a BBQ.  It was still yummy even if we didn't have any company.
  • Show at Mason District park- Luckily, we got a great offer to go to the pool with friends this morning instead of sitting out in the heat to watch a performance.  We had a great time at the pool even if we did get burned after only two hours.  Note to self- reapply the sunblock.
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons- Ah ha!  I finally got them cut on Saturday morning before heading to the pool.  I was really glad to get those done and clean up the mess before heading out for our day.
  • Get coupons on Friday- Friday was a government holiday and the library was closed so I checked back on Saturday and they didn't have any papers.  I need to check to see if there are going to be any local papers this week or I might be without the coupons.
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I didn't bring the computer with me to the beach so we had even a few days where the computer wasn't turned on at all.  I turned it off every night but one because company changed the nightly process but it was off most days too.
  • Finish reading current book by Alexander McCall Smith- I finished it on Sunday so I was excited to check that off my list for June.
  • Start reading book for review and a fun beach book- I read the book for review when I was done with the next book.  I didn't actually bring a beach book which I guess was good because we never got to sit on the beach and read.  The review book was really good so I got through a lot on the ride home and had to finish it when I got home.
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- We had a busy week trying to keep clean with everyone in the house.  The counters were cleaned up every day but it was still a mess.  I cleaned up after the company left and we left the kitchen alone so that the counters wouldn't be a mess (plus I was out of eggs so I couldn't bake anything).  We did a great job cleaning up everything so that we had a little bit of a break.
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- We were away from the house for Sunday night so there were no dishes to do.  With the company in the house, we were always doing dishes and I don't know if things were every totally clean but we got all the dishes done on Thursday night because we grilled :)
Blog Goals

  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week- Done.  I got a bunch of posts up that I needed to finish the month and some to plan for next month.
