Number One Lady Dectective Agency TV Series

I was turned on to this book series by my friend Ann who gave me the first book in the series for Christmas or my birthday.  It was an extra special copy too because it was from England so it had a different cover than the ones in the US!!  Then, I got to go meet the author with her mother in law, Christel, when I got home from England.  He signed my special book!!!  I highly recommend The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith and all of his other books.  They have changed the cover to tie in with the TV series :(

I don't normally talk about TV shows but since this one is based on a book, I figured that it was like recommending the book.  Check out The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency: The Complete First Season Starring Jill Scott!!! 

 I reserved it at the library and then quickly watched all of the 3 discs.  I was super sad to get to the end and not have another one to watch.  So I googled Season 2 and found out that it was cancelled!!  WHAT???  This was an awesome show and it really brought out a lot of the characters and cases that were discussed through the books.  I loved the actors chosen for the roles and really loved to see the books come to life in front of me on the TV. 

I highly recommend checking out the books first but I am sure if you watch the series first, you won't be able to help but want more and read all the books!!  Check out the books and TV series at your local library or bookstore.
