Harris Teeter Shopping Trip 5/3

I just looked at the Harris Teeter specials last night and I couldn't pass up the Aunt Jemima Pancake deal.  They were on sale for buy 2 get 3 free!!!  I got to work on getting five $1/2 coupons so that I could get 10 boxes.  Super excited with coupons in hand, my son and I went to the store hoping that there were still 10 left at the store.  There were so we loaded up our car cart and raced to the finish line (okay check out). 

We got a really nice check out clerk and she entertained my son the whole time while we waited for customer service and then the manager to come and override our coupons :)  First person said it was against the coupon policy and I told her that I really and truely follow the coupon policy strictly and it wasn't.  The manager came over and said that the machine only doubled three like coupons but since mine weren't doubling, they could take all 5!!!  The final total was $7.26 OOP (which does seem crazy for a cart load of pancakes but since my son loves them, I will buy them at this price).  It works out to $0.73 per box or $0.06 a pancake.  Hopefully this will hold us over for awhile because it certainly fills the freezer!!  Total savings was $22.94.
