Midnight Kiss Book Review

Midnight Kiss: Midnight Confessions\Midnight Surrender\Midnight Assignment by Robyn Carr, Jean Brashear and Victoria Dahl was the next on the list from the Virgin River series from Robyn Carr so I reserved it at the library waiting for it to come in (less than patiently).   The books actually came in but I was in the middle of another book so I held strong and didn't go to get them until I was ready to return the book that I was reading.  I didn't want to start another book before finishing the last :)  Of course, I started this one on the way home from the library and had it read in less than 24 hours.  It is a trilogy of three stories that are held together with the simple thought that a kiss at midnight can change your life.

The first story, "Midnight Confessions" was from Robyn Carr.  Sunny Archer, the niece of Dr. Nate Jensen local vet, came into town and was celebrating New Years Eve at Jack's Bar against her better judgement.  It was the one year anniversary of when she was left at the alter so she was in no mood to be at a party or try to be happy about new beginnings.  Drew Foley, a second year orthopedic resident visiting his sisters' cabin in Virgin River, came into the bar looking for a drink after a long day of studying when he spotted the very sad looking Sunny across the room.  He tries his best to start a conversation with her and she quickly shoots him down.  Obviously that would be a horrible end to the story so read it and see what happens from there!

The second story, "Midnight Surrender" by Jean Brashear, is about Jordan Parrish who is a shark lawyer who likes to work hard and play hard.  One of her friends, Marley, sets her up with Will Masterson, an Irish carpenter.  She is immediately drawn by his good looks and turned off by anything that looks like a relationship.  She fights a friendship by purposely ignoring him and again if you want the rest of the details, you need to pick up the book and check out the story.

Lastly, "Midnight Assignment" by Victoria Dahl is about Noah James and Elise Watson who work together and are fighting feelings for each other for different reasons.  When Elise started in the job, she made a move for Noah and he pushed her away by telling her that he had a girlfriend.  She felt hurt and didn't want to look bad in the new job so she later mentioned that she had a boyfriend so that he would know that she wasn't hung up on their quick encounter.  The story was interesting from beginning to end and so much different that the other stories in the book.  It was a great way to end the book and the biggest surprise that unfolds through the short story.

This compilation was a great opportunity to read another two authors stories and decide that I really like them too!!!  Now I am going to have more authors to add to my list when I (all too quickly) finish the Robyn Carr Virgin River series and the Robert Parker Spenser series.  Oh course, I am going to hold off on looking up the authors until I am done with my other two book series first :)

I hope that you check out this book and get a peek at all three authors to see what you think.  I look forward to hearing your thoughts!!!  If you have read any of the other authors work, let me know where to start!
