Weekly Goals 4/14

I was hoping to exhaust my son this week with lots of fun activities planned but I think that I wiped myself out more than I did him but ony day I did get a nap when he stopped moving on the couch.  It was like hitting pay dirt and I crawled under the blanket on the couch and got a great little nap.  It was hard to keep my eyes open, let alone do all the extra cooking and cleaning that I needed to get done through the week.  It seems that more days pass and I don't make enough progress on all the projects that we have going on here.  I feel like we might be one step off Little House on the Prarie and I am just being lazy when I want to sit down to rest.  I know right now I should be cutting coupons, making cinnamon rolls and a loaf of bread but here I am on the computer.  I guess I better get to work!!  How did your week go??
Last Week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family- My husband took off on Wednesday so we got to spend the day together and have a picnic in the park followed by lots of playtime on the playground.  We also got to spend some fun family time on Saturday at the Shark event at the mall.
  • Playdate with friends- We went to a playdate at a friends house and spent a really long time there and didn't leave until 5 pm!  It was lots of fun for the kids to get along and it was time to leave and then they decided that we needed to go to the playground so it delayed the departure.
  • Teacher conference for little man- We went to conference with the teacher and got our "report card" from little man's teacher.  She said that he likes to do everything quickly like running to the bathroom and she has to tell him to use his walking legs :)
  • First class at My Gym and go to at least two open playtimes- We went to the open play on Tuesday and then class followed by open play on Thursday.  My little guy had a blast and he worked a lot of energy out and I think that he might have a little crush on the teacher.
  • Get couch cleaned- The guy came and the spot is not cleanable.  He worked on one side and made it much better and didn't even try on the second side.  Hate to tell him that I would love him to tell the company it isn't cleanable but try to get it at least a little better because we are going to be sitting on it regardless.  Oh well, we got that done and I was going to try to talk him into cleaning another spot that I didn't get called in before my son made it but we are now past our deadline by a few days and the cleaning warranty is over.
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons- Who is a procrastinator??  I am!!!  I finally started cutting on Saturday after I already got the other papers and felt guilty on how big the stack was getting.  The good news is that I got both inserts cut!!! YEAH!
  • Get coupons on Friday- Well, not on Friday but I checked at the library and the CVS store and they didn't have any on Friday so I went on Saturday and there was a big pile at the library.  I was glad to get my share and pick up a few books at the same time.
  • Go to dentist for cleaning- I got that done quickly and easily...just a little costly since I am out of dental insurance.
  • Go to PT for TMJ- I had my first PT in a long time and it was nice to have some of the muscles worked out.  If you haven't had pain in your jaw, it is probably hard to explain but she worked the muscles in my cheek and tried to relax them.  It was the oddest feeling but very relaxing.
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I shut off the computer on Sunday night and turned it on for a little bit on Monday morning but shut it back off again only to have to turn it on before I left to pick up my son.  I am not sure that turning the computer on and off is the best way to do it but I am still working on the process.  I turn it off every night so it can get a good nights sleep- at least one of should be :) I have been working on shutting it off every day and night when not in use so hopefully it will save energy and run better.
  • Finish reading Promise Canyon- I finished reading it late on Sunday night (or Monday morning)
  • Start reading Bad Business and whatever ends up next on the list- I finished Bad Business on Monday night since it was a fast read and started on the next book from the library
  • Make blueberry muffins, applesauce bread and scones to have breakfast snacks through the week- I ended up making blueberry bread because my blueberry muffin recipe used too much butter and we are running low so I got all of those made on Sunday while my husband was at the dump picking up a free load of leaf mulch.
  • Find a new recipe to try out!!- I have been looking and haven't found any recipes that have jumped out at me.  I tried two new recipes last week so it took awhile to find the recipe to make and I choose Easy Honey Wheat bread.  I made a few oldie but goodies with Rasin Bran Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls too.
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- I cleaned up the kitchen all 7 days this week and kept it pretty clean (sometimes having to clean it more than once).  The great part was having all the homemade goodies from the weekend to eat through the week and I didn't have to make something every other day to have fresh baked goods and they stayed fresh as long as they lasted.  Here is hoping that I can do that for the coming week.
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- I cleaned up everything on Sunday night so that I woke up to the dishes all clean on Monday morning but the kitchen was still a mess.  I didn't get to clean it up from all the baking because I had just finished cleaning it up.
Blog Goals

  • Post one post everyday (schedule 7 posts so that can spend more time with family)- Everything posted for the week and hoping to get more posts up soon.
  • Review book reviews completed during the week (if done)- Two book reviews up by Monday night and the 2013 listing is updated to include all the books through this week that are read.  Rest of the book reviews are posted as the books are finished.
  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week- Worked on a few and searched around for some upcoming ideas for Thrifty Thursday but I am still working on those.  Hope to get another two done this week but I am not sure if I am going to have the pictures ready to schedule the post.
