March Cooking Review

I didn't have a lot of cooking planned for March except I figured that I would be making some old favorites.  I tend to make those a lot and not look for new recipes to try.  Doesn't everyone?  I knew that I needed to come up with some new recipes to bake and soon!!  I didn't get that much done last month but I was sure that I was going to turn that around March with just a little more thought.

I should have a list starting off the month but most of my items come up when I am hunting around the house for something to make with what I have already at the house or if I get a special oatmeal chocolate chip cookie request (which happens a lot since I found it last month).  We did go back and visit the recipe for Salsa Sloppy Joes which I loved the first time and haven't made since.  I also made lots of loaves of white sandwich bread for sandwiches.  Close to the end of the month, I also made the Nutella breakfast cookies with the other jar of Jiffy that I had in the cupboard.  The main goal was to not spend a lot at the grocery store which usually means a lot of cooking and baking from scratch.
Here we go with big cooking plans for April with a great review of new recipes that I made in March.

My favorite by far was the Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Scones but that is probably because it is a sweet treat.  I also loved how easy the cheese crackers were that I had put off making forever!

I know that I will make the rice a lot more now since it has been a long time since I have made it and I have lots of homemade chicken broth to use up in the freezer but now I am running low on the 25 pound bag that my parents brought so that might be a problem soon.

The Cheesy Garlic Pizza Bites were my big surprise of the month.  We enjoyed them for dinner and they were super easy to whip up as a last minute dinner.  Now I just need to find a new baking mix recipe that doesn't use dry milk powder because I don't have any and then I will be able to see if the recipe is just as good with that one!!

My first try on homemade spaghetti sauce was pretty successful. Using cans of different kinds of tomatoes that I had to use up in the pantry,  I made dinner and extra to freeze.  It was tasty and I can't wait to use more again soon!

To end of the month on a good note, I also enjoyed the mini cinnamon rolls which my son thought were so good but gone too quickly.

I hope that you have a tasty month and I want to hear all about the new recipes you have tried and how you have liked the ones that I have made.  Anything good that I need to add to April's list???
