Thin Air Book Review

Thin Air (Spenser) by Robert B. Parker was the next in the line so I was excited when I found it on the library shelf.  I started reading shortly after I finished my previous book.  It was a little creepy to start the book at night because it started a little scary with an abduction of the woman so just a warning that this is a serious book showing both the abducted woman's point of view and Spenser's story.

In this story, Lisa St. Claire is missing.  She is wife to Spenser's detective friend Frank Belson.  Belson starts looking for his missing wife but is shot three times and is stuck in a hospital bed.  Spenser takes over the investigation following the clues out to LA where he finds out more about the wife's history.  He also finds her estranged mother, father, and high school boyfriend/pimp who add very little value to the investigation but provide bits to the puzzle of Lisa's past.  He finally finds Lisa being held captive at a drug dealers compound with help from Chollo, a Spanish speaking friend from LA.  They rescue her and bring her back to her husband.  The plot might be a little more far fetched than Parker's other novels but it is still a page turner looking to find out the next step in solving the mystery and saving the woman.

I hope that you check out this book and all of the Robert Parker books because they are super entertaining and hard to put down.  This and all the other books are worth the read and I highly recommend starting at the beginning and working your way through the series.
