Love of the Game: A Stardust, Texas Novel by Lori Wilde is the third book in the Stardust, Texas series. I have really been enjoying the series but I am sad to see that there are only three books so I have reached the end. Although after reading it and seeing that there is one more sister, I was hopeful that there is a new book coming but the date on the first three books were 2015 and 2016. Sad that I might not get to visit Stardust, Texas again but I will check out other books by the author.
A sexy sports superstar discovers his body isn’t the only thing that needs healing in this newest Stardust, Texas novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde.
With major league good looks and talent, Dallas Gunslingers relief pitcher Axel Richmond was living the good life. Even if the roar of the crowd could never distract him from the loss of his young son. But now with an injured shoulder and his career on the line, Axel is stuck recuperating at a ranch in Stardust, Texas . . . striking out only with his gorgeous physical therapist.
Kasha Carlyle has one week to get Axel back in action or she can kiss her much-needed job with the Gunslingers goodbye. And any chance to seek custody of the orphaned half-sister she never knew existed. She quickly learns that Axel’s guarded heart also needs healing . . . requiring all kinds of sneaky plays and sexy moves in extra innings.
Kasha Carlyle is the next sister who gets handed down the hope chest from her sister that was just married. Kasha is trying to build a life for herself so that she can take care of her half sister that she just found out about. She blames herself for the fact that her sister Emma has no family and is working to gain custody of her special needs sister. In order to do so, she leaves the job that she loves in order to take a more high paying one with better insurance. Kasha is quick to try to do the job to the best of her ability and opens her mouth when Axel asks what she thinks about his shoulder recovery. Axel is a superstar baseball pitcher who is recovering from shoulder injury and he is not doing a great job. Kasha says that she can do better with some rest and best diet and then she will gain her permanent spot as a physical therapist for the Gunslinger team. Axel is a tough patient because he keeps doing things that are against what she is asking but he finally learns that she is going to make him better and he trusts the process. Axel starts yoga and painting and spending more time relaxing instead of pushing himself like he was before and he starts to heal. More time with intensive therapy, Kasha and Aexel have a hard time fighting their attraction to each other but you have to pick up the book to find out what happens....hint, there is a hope chest and a key that plays a big part. I hope that you check out this book and the others in the fun series. It was a great story line and I am holding out hope that there is a fourth book in the series someday.
