It Ends With Us Book Review

I reserved this book because of a recommendation from my mom's group. I put it off in my pile of books to read and then finally picked it up because it was due back to the library the next day so I knew that I had to get reading and quickly.  I picked it up and read it very quickly because I couldn't put it down because It Ends with Us: A Novel by Colleen Hoover was an amazing book!!

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.  Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.  As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

This was an amazing start to this wonderful author that I haven't read before.  I can tell you that after reading the book, the description on Amazon doesn't even touch the dept of emotion or subject matter in this book.  I enjoyed every word and every emotion that she put on the page because I couldn't put the book down.  I was reading at physical therapy and someone told me that they read the book too and seemed excited but I told them not to ruin it because I just started the night before so I didn't really know what was going on.  Well, after a long day of reading, I know what was going on and I finished the whole book with the help of a lot of tissues.  It was amazing to watch Lily go through everything in her life including her abusive father and her door mat mother to her adult life and dreams of opening a flower shop.  All of Lily's life and feelings are laid out in this book and I know that you will instantly connect with her and want her to make all the right choices in her life.  Although you have to pick up the book to find out what decisions she makes and how her past affects her future.  I hope that you check out this book and prepare for the emotional ride that it will take you on.  I know that you will enjoy it as much as I did!!
