All Summer Long Book Review

All Summer Long (Fool's Gold, Book 9) by Susan Mallery was the next book in my pile and I actually thought it was the last book that I had from the library when I found the second pile behind the first.  LOL!!!  I have a problem when they are two deep in my side table!!  I have a lot that I wanted to get read this summer and there isn't that much time left.  I have a lot of things I need to get read and more checked out from the library.  Will I be able to finish this whole series this summer?? Only time will tell!!!

Former underwear model turned entrepreneur Clay Stryker has loved, tragically lost and vowed that he'll never risk his heart again. After making his fortune, the youngest of the rugged Stryker brothers returns to Fool's Gold, California, to put down roots on a ranch of his own. But he's frustrated to discover that even in his hometown, people see him only for his world-famous…assets.  Firefighter Chantal (Charlie) Dixon grew up an ugly duckling beside her delicately beautiful mother, a feeling reinforced long ago by a man who left soul-deep scars. Now she has good friends, a solid job and the itch to start a family—yet she can't move toward the future while she's haunted by painful memories.  Clay finds an unexpected ally, and unexpected temptation, in tomboyish Charlie, the only person who sees beyond his dazzling good looks to the real man beneath. But when Charlie comes to him with an indecent proposal, will they be able to overcome their pasts and find a love that lasts beyond one incredible summer?

I often feel this after finishing a book but this was one of my favorites in the series so far.  Although Charlie was often in the previous books, we learned a little more in each book but this book was all about her resolving her problems.  She is trying to overcome a difficult childhood and a feeling of not being enough in her mothers eyes.  This led her to make other difficult choices and with a date rape and resulting rejection from her mother, she has a lot of scars to overcome.  I loved watching Clay help her overcome all her problems!!  I know that you will love the ups and down to make sure that she gets to her happy ending.  I hope that you like this book as much as I did.  If you want to get to know others in the small town of Fool's Gold, make sure you check out the rest of the series.
