Heads up to Everyone!!!
Somehow my PayPal account just got hacked. They cleared the account after making a testing deposit in my bank account and billed $150.00 to Victoria Secret which got overdrafted to my bank account and withdrew the rest of the money from my checking account. Make sure you check your bank accounts and Pay Pal closely and make sure that there are no purchases without your knowledge!!!!

ReplyDeleteMy brother's PayPal account was hacked last week and they succeeded in emptying out his checking account through that.
We got an alert from MasterCard this morning about a small charge (less than $5) that wasn't ours. Good thing the algorithm caught it. Now we have to wait for the new cards to come in.
Ugh! I am glad that they didn't get a chance to empty the checking account but that was my fear. They transferred the money to make sure it was working so they could have just kept going with it until I logged into my bank account or pay pal to see.

ReplyDeleteHopefully not too many people get it but they said it was from Russia which should be an obvious sign that it wasn't us but we got back the pay pal money immediately but I guess the bank money is harder to do which leaves me a little worried. Trying to be positive and patient...two things that I am not :)
