Weekly Goals 4/6

Another week flying by and I swear that if I don't plan everything out that it doesn't get done.  I get to the end of the week and I see that the laundry has piled up and I realize that I didn't put it on the list.  Oh well, I always hope that my week will get less complicated or less busy but as soon as that happens, we add more activities for it to be as full as possible.  Do you still have that same problem?

I know that I am a list person but this seems to be getting a little crazy.  I wish that my son needed some down time because I know that I do.  I try to work in a few things that get him doing something not so active so that I get a little break but thinking about it makes me know that this summer is going to be hard on me with him home for months!  I need a better plan.  Does anyone else have a plan for what they are going to to do this summer?

This week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family - We had great family dinners and lots of time together
  • Soccer game- We got to spend Saturday together with soccer practice and game which was super entertaining.  Have you ever watched 5 year olds play soccer?  It was super fun and we all ended up with a little too much sun.
  • Register my son for Kindergarten!!!!  I can't believe it is already here.- I went in and turned in all my paperwork so my son is officially going to be a kindergarten student next year
  • Playdate with friends after school (another mom and I are switching days picking the kids up from school so we get one day with no kids for most of the day and then another where the kids entertain each other so it is the best of both worlds so this should be her free day)- I watched the kids on Thursday after school so that my friend could get her basement painted.
Personal Goals
  • Get coupons on Friday or Saturday- I got my coupons on Friday but I had to make a few stops to do it.  I got all my papers and I was pretty excited to see two inserts but that means a lot of cutting this week.
  • Cut coupons (two inserts from this week and one from last)- I cut all my coupons from last week early in the week and luckily didn't have to worry about them for the rest of the week.  I even went through my whole coupon pile to get out expired coupons from the coupons that I don't think that I am going to use and hope to start selling on ebay.
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I shut off the computer every night and saved lots of energy because I wasn't home for most of the day time too!
  • Teach couponing class for moms- I taught the group a little bit and I hope that I covered everything to get them started.  There is so much information and it normally takes me a long time to go over everything but I did it in 2 hours.
  • Subbing at school three days- Lots of work this week and I got to work in two different classes that I don't normally work in so it was fun.
  • Post additional coupons for sale to ebay (?)- I cleaned out my coupons and got them organized but I didn't put up any.  It is hard because it is something that I need to do every day and get momentum on but it often looses steam when I get to my coupon limit and then I don't get the next batch up when I can do it again.  UGH!  Hoping to do some next week but it will be a hassle to do it when my parents are here because I don't get a lot of time on the computer.
  • Finish reading Happy Family book- I finished reading the book and enjoying all of the different lessons it was teaching so review should be coming soon.
  • Find next book to read- I picked up the next Janet Evanovich book.
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- I cleaned up all week before going to bed and again in the morning.  It was not horrible this week but I didn't do a lot of baking or other fun things in the kitchen so there wasn't a lot of clean up.
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- I cleaned the dishes on one night so that I would be totally clean in the morning and my husband did it on another but he left the bread machine pan.
Blog Goals
  • Post one post everyday (schedule 7 posts so that can spend more time with family)- Got all of my stuff posted except the recipe that I was supposed to do on Saturday because I got it all done and didn't have the rest of the pictures loaded on the computer yet and I totally forgot to go back and download them.  Oh well, I got it up late at night instead of when it was supposed to but better late then never.
  • Review book reviews completed during the week (if done)- Reviews will be posted next week.
  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week - I didn't get a great start on next week except that I worked a little on my different lesson plans.  I got some ideas down for Thrifty Thursdays but I need to do a little more work.  I hope to get some work done on Sunday to start off the week right but I don't even know where to start so we will see!
  • Post Month End posts for Reading, Cooking, Budget and Coupons- I posted my reading and budget.  I posted the coupons that could be printed for the month.  I looked through the recipes and decided to skip posting the monthly review because I didn't get up the recipes that I made in time so I will try to do two months combined when I get the recipes up.
  • Participate in blog hops to share posts with others- I had a week where I opened up the link ups and didn't get much farther.  I am not sure if I did post some things or not but hope to get more work done next week when I am not working.
  • Post Sunday Weekly Goals, Menu Plan Monday, Kid Wednesday and Thrifty Thursday Tip- I got them all posted this week.

  1. You are one busy lady! My 20 month old has no clue what "down time" is and doesn't stop for one minute, so I can totally relate to you on that. I'm just hoping that as he gets older his attention span will increase or maybe his energy level will simmer down a little. Good luck this week!

    1. Mine is 5 years old and I just can't get him to sit still. I am the mom that says look at what is on TV so that I can get a few minutes to cook dinner but without that we are at playgrounds and running around but I just don't have that much energy. My friends kid likes to be at home and play for a few hours a day quietly by himself. I tell her all the time that I am super jealous!
