Cloak of the Light Book Review

Cloak of the Light: Wars of the Realm, Book  by Chuck Black was my next choice from Blogging for Books.  I wasn't really sure about it from the summary that I read and I didn't remember what it was about when it showed up in my mailbox.  I was just finished reading my other book so I grabbed it to check it out.  Although I spent the entire book forgetting the title of the book, It was a great pick.

In this book, Drew Carter lost his father at the age of twelve and he met his father's friend, Jake.  Jake became his good friend and took him camping to teach him survival skills while enjoying a little bonding time.  Jake convinced him to try out for football at his South Carolina school which he was really good at and enjoyed.  It helped him fit in and start to feel like he had a normal life.  Then his mother lost her job and they had to move across the country to Kansas.  He had to start over which was hard but he started playing football again.  He tried to fit in with his teammates but they weren't as nice as he was so he found a new friend, Benjamin Berg.  After a rough childhood, he gets to start over in college where even more interesting things happen including an accident in the physics department with Ben where they both fight life threatening injuries and their lives change again permanently.  You will have to pick up the book to find out what happens next!!!!

I thought this book was amazing.  I am hooked and I really need to read the next one now and this one isn't even released yet since I got a pre-released copy!!!  I am in trouble if I have to wait a year for the next one.  I hope that this series is going to come out faster then most because this was a real cliffhanger.  If you like resolution at the end of your books, this isn't going to be the one for you.  I had trouble putting it down, especially at the end and then it was quickly over before I was ready (as many good books are).  I was left wondering what was going to happen next.  I hope that you pick up this book at your local library or bookstore when it is available with the release date on March 19th (but available for pre-order on Amazon).  Let me know if you have read anything else by this author because I am going to start looking into some of his other book series!!!  Stay tuned for my review on Good Reads too!

** I was provided this book from Blogging for Books for my honest review.   All of the opinions here are my own.  If you are interested in Blogging for Books, please check out their website here.  Review on their website can be seen here.
