Weekly Goals 11/3

Is Halloween supposed to be this crazy or was it only because we were sick too?  We were really busy with lots of Halloween week things to do and now we have a new week and month to start.  I know that I say this every month but it really came out of no where for me.  I have a totally blank meal plan with nothing on it for the whole month so I have a lot of work ahead of me to get ready for the month!!

Hope that you have a good week!

Last week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family- My husband took Monday off to spend some extra time with the family since the weekend went so quickly with the pumpkin party on Sunday.  We got to do a little clean up in the morning.  Then, we went to a library storytime and trick or treating event.  My son wanted to take him to his favorite store, Lakeshore Learning so we went there.  We left and went out to lunch using a gift card that we had so we only had to pay $0.44 plus a $5 tip.  Great deal for lunch for three people at a nice restaurant.  We got lots more fun time together with trick or treating.  Them, we ended the week with a visit with my sister in law and an old friend that we haven't seen in years.  We went out to lunch with the whole family again!!  This has been a busy week and we are sick so a little trying too!!  Here is hoping for a healthier next week.
  • Pumpkin party with friends- We had a great time at the pumpkin party with some of our friends and the weather was great so the kids got to play outside.  We had crafts inside and lots of food!
  • Make Ghost and/or Bat Halloween crafts and others with friends- We made bats, mummies, and lots more with our friends that came over for the Halloween party.  We also made some leaf rubbings when we had a little down time.  Then, my son decided that he wanted to glue the leaves to some other pictures so he got a second project out of them.
  • Get to preschool on time everyday- It was a little touch and go this week making it out of the house and getting to school on time.  There were two high traffic days- one was raining and the other there was a tow truck in our lane picking up a car.  We made it all week be only by minutes and it was a tough week.  Anyone else glad that Halloween is over?
  • Go to Doctors appointment- I had a doctors appointment to follow up with her and she sent me for more tests so I went and had them done this week too.  I now have a follow up on the tests.  Is this a never ending battle??
  • Halloween Parade at school- We got to see my son walk around the playground and then perform with his class and others all of their Halloween songs.  Then, we went back to the classroom and I read the kids stories while they were getting changed out of their costumes.  They decorated pumpkins and now ours is proudly sitting on our porch.  My son really likes to make the face on the pumpkin and he has decided that he is now into cheeks.  They are positioned near where the ears should be but he thinks that they are cheeks.  One of the ghosts that he made also had cheeks :)  Isn't it funny what they decide to do with their creativity :)
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons(if I ever get them)- I got them and cut two of the three inserts before super doubles started.  I still had the last insert left and was trying to use coupons out of the insert and cutting in the store...of well, I got the expired coupons out of the basket and all of the printed coupons filed so at least I was most of the way done with my coupon mess.  I still have the last set of coupons to cut but that isn't horrible after a busy week.
  • Get coupons on Friday - The never ending saga of us trying to get coupons but it seems that we need a better location and a better time or else we are going to have to get the local people to deliver the papers to the house soon.  I went to CVS and they didn't have them yet.  My son and I went grocery shopping and I was supposed to stop at the library on the way home but I forgot.  By the time that my husband got there, it was picked over.  He got 2 papers so he went to Giant and got a few more.  If I find some more in my travels for the week then I will get them but if not, I am happy enough with what I have.
  • Go to Jazzercise (maybe Thursday if I am not spending that time making another costume for Halloween)- I went to Jazzercise on Thursday even though I was sick.  I am glad that I made it out but it made for a long day because I fit in the grocery store and getting cleaned up before going to pick up my son from school.  It was also Halloween and we had lots of things to do to get ready to go out.
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I shut off the computer a lot this week.  There was one night where my husband was fixing something on my computer and I went to bed and he left it on :(  Oh well, I turned it off during the day to make things a little better on the computer.
  • Finish reading book club book Thirteenth Tale (for real this week!!)- I finally finished it and the review is going to posted soon.  I was a little behind on writing it because I was not really sure what to write.
  • Read next book by Debbie Macomber in the pile- I finished it on the last hour of the last day of the month...and started on the next book in the pile.  Sadly, I was up until 3 am because I couldn't breath with my congestion but I got a lot of reading done!
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- We did really great at the beginning of the week cleaning up from the party but then we all got sick and the meal plan changed and all the dishes were hard to keep up with.  We did our best and I think that we kept the kitchen pretty clean but not a shining week for the kitchen.
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- To be honest, the days were sort of running together this week with lack of sleep, busy schedule and being sick so I don't know when we got the kitchen totally clean and didn't make a mess.  I think that I did clean up everything one night and run the dishwasher so that everything was clean but I don't have clue what night that was.
Blog Goals
  • Post one post everyday (schedule 7 posts so that can spend more time with family)- I got up posts every day and scheduled a lot of them ahead of time so that I didn't miss anything.
  • Review book reviews completed during the week (if done)- Reviews are posted and coming soon!
  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week- I got some ideas going for some posts that I am going to be working on for the coming month.  I did a little work and got a bunch of drafts up.  I have a lot more work to do through the next week to get the drafts into better shape to see what else I have to do for the coming month.
  • Post Sunday Weekly Goals, Menu Plan Monday, Kid Wednesday and Thrifty Thursday Tip- I got up all my posts that were scheduled this week and got great ideas to go forward on a few different topics!!
