Weekly Goals 10/13

I am not sure how this turned into such a busy week but I was running around like a crazy person.  I made a to do list on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to try to be more productive.  I got a lot done with my list while my son was at school Wednesday and then I picked him up and we did a few more things before coming home but the rest of the week did not go nearly as smoothly.  Hoping to keep going with this productivity because I often forget what I have to do when I don't write it down.  Of course, there is that little bit of time where I misplace the list which always makes me crazy.  Do you have that same problem??

Here is hoping that you had as productive a week and hopefully a little less busy!!  Here is hoping for next week that I can get things done on my list and get ahead.... it is always my hope but then I sit down and read a book instead :)

This week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family- We had a busy week but we got to spend a lot of fun time together playing and doing crafts.  We have some of our crafts hanging up on the dining room chandelier.
  • Swimming Lessons- My cold little boy had to get out by the end of class and I even fed him cinnamon bread on the way to class.  I was hoping that carb loading was going to help but it didn't.  He had a blast until he was freezing.
  • Get to preschool on time everyday- We did great with school this week and made it there every day this week but I missed blue day but at least he had on a Thomas shirt so there was a blue train on it...of well!!
  • Work at school two days for picture days- Super cool that they asked me to do it because I get a $15 coupon off school pictures.  I am excited to put that too good use since the lowest package is $32 so we will have a great deal after all is done or we will get the class picture free.
  • Playdate with friend after school- We weren't planning on a playdate this week but we have a friend who came over and stay for a few hours while his dad went to a meeting because his mom was out of town.  The kids had a blast with playing, lunch, popcorn snack and some tv.
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons- I cut the remaining insert from last week and the two from this week that I got on Sunday from another library (thank goodness) on Thursday before heading to school and while my son was in school.  Getting them all cut and in envelopes takes a bit of time but I was glad to cross that off the list.
  • Get coupons on Friday- I remembered that it was Friday so I stopped at the library before going to pick up my son and had no luck because the papers weren't in yet.  On to the next stop trying CVS by my son's school but there was nothing there yet.  I texted my husband a reminder.  He stopped at the library and they were almost out so he got 6 from there.  He went to Giant and they only had a few left.  He grabbed those and came home.  We ended up with plenty since the coupons this week aren't really great but it does seem to be a fight to figure out the schedule of the papers now.
  • Take donations to NVFS- I have been wanting to do this for awhile and I had to keep moving it back.  I finally made it and I forgot the second bag of stuff that I gathered so I guess I will be back there again soon.
  • Work at picture day at school- I worked at both picture days at school.  It was actually really fun and probably just my speed.  I enjoyed getting to see all the kids and the three ring circus of keeping it moving and getting kids back and forth to classes. I might have mastered it right in time for it to be over.
  • Take books to friends baby-  We got some books at a recent sale for our friends kid and we stopped over to drop them off.
  • Spend CVS money- I went to CVS on Tuesday and got 4 containers of my son's vitamins since they were on sale for buy one, get one free.  I was excited to only spend $8.99 on all four!!
  • Go to Jazzercise- I went to Jazzercise on Tuesday but it was still tough since I wasn't feeling so good.  I had so much going on the rest of the week that I thought it was a good idea to get in the exercise early in the week.
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I shut off the computer every night and left it off when we were away from the house.  Let's say that it had more time off then on this week with all the busy schedule.
  • Finish reading The Newcomer by Robyn Carr- I finished the book and wrote the review
  • Read next book in the pile by Beverly Lewis- I finished the book and wrote the review.  I started on the next book in the pile which was 92 Pacific Blvd and posted the review.  Started on the Christmas at Apple Ridge for my book review
Home Management Goals.
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- I cleaned up the kitchen most of the week.  I gave the floor a good scrub on Friday since it has been so rainy here.  Hoping that we keep it clean through the weekend without me having to do more scrubbing.
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- I did all the dishes on Monday night while watching the TV in the kitchen for distraction.  Nothing like watching Bones and cleaning dishes.  I left a pan to soak on Tuesday while finishing up other things around the house.  I try my best to get cleaned up at night but there always seems to be something left to soak and then it turns into not getting done that night.
Blog Goals
  • Post one post everyday (schedule 7 posts so that can spend more time with family)- I got all my posts up this week without too much trouble.
  • Review book reviews completed during the week (if done)- Reviews are posted
  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week- I got a few things up for next week but not much past that... I guess I have a little work to catch up from my parents visit.  I didn't get a lot done while they were here.
  • Post Sunday Weekly Goals, Menu Plan Monday, Kid Wednesday and Thrifty Thursday Tip- I got all of my posts up this week.

  1. I once volunteered to help with the church yearbooks and we got our whole family portrait session free. That was awesome. :)
