Weekly Goals 9/8

We had a busy but great week this week.  Super glad that we only have a little cough this week and we can get back out and do things because my little man does not like getting stuck in the house all day (and I don't like being stuck with him).  Both of us are excited after visiting school and getting to have fun in the classroom and ready for school to start next week.  Hoping to get into the grove and be able to make it on time to school too (without a fight)!!  Hope you had a great week and look forward to hearing about it :)

Last week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family- We got to spend lots of time together and had a good week even though my son was still getting over this sickness and I still feel yucky.  Here is hoping that next week we have a healthy family and can do more fun things!
  • Parent Open House at my son's school- We have been for the last two years to this event but it is the nice time when you get to see the kids classroom and meet the teachers.  I get to go back the next day with my son and meet all his new classmates but it is possibly the only night that we get out during the year and we have someone come and watch my son and get him to bed before we get home.
  • Children's Open House at my son's school- This is like a fun playdate with a bunch of strangers but this time we are going to know two or three of the kids there.  I was hoping that he really likes his new classroom after getting to spend a little time in it with me. He did and wanted to go to school the next day but I told him that we had to wait a few days for school to start.
  • Library storytime (if my son is feeling better)- We were going to go to one but decided to go to our friends house and the library instead.  We had a good day and I guess it wore him out enough that he fell asleep on the couch.  We went to a farm storytime the next day and he had a blast.
  • My Gym Class- I know that he is super excited to get back to class this week and play on all of the equipment.  He can't get enough to climb on around the house and being sick and missing class last week was not fun for either of us!  Looking forward to the four weeks of classes and trying to decide if we are going to take a break for a little bit before starting up again but I guess we will see how that goes with the little man climbing the walls!!
  • Go to playground- We met up with some friends at the playground on Friday after our school open house and little man climbed on everything.
  • Take Aunt Kim to Georgetown to get cupcakes for Uncle Steve's birthday- Aunt Kim had fun taking little man in and getting cupcakes....he also got to eat one in the car which he enjoyed but he was sad to hear that the cupcakes were going home with Aunt Kim instead of him!!
  • Go to Lakeshore Learning to make guitar craft- I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to make it depending on how the little guy was feeling but luckily he was great and had a blast.  I know that we will be going back there a lot!
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons- I had a coupon cutting injury on my finger and I didn't get to the newest set of inserts over the holiday weekend.  I did finally decide that I needed to get everything cut and cleaned up so I did it on Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Get coupons on Friday- Kind of forgot with all the other things going on the main reason why I had to make it to the library on Friday other than picking up my books and my husband did too so we didn't get the papers.  I went back first thing on Saturday crossing my fingers and found a very small pile of papers so I did get my coupons just not on Friday :)
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I shut off the computer every night but didn't do as great with shutting it off during the day but I am going to be better next week!
  • Continue to read 311 Pelican Court by Debbie Macomber- I read it and finished it (review scheduled)
  • Read next book by Robyn Carr or Beverly Lewis- I read both books and the reviews are posted (and two more Beverly Lewis books!!!)  I think that I read four or five books this week so I might need to try to slow down!
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- I tried to keep the kitchen clean most of the week but it was another week that I seemed to make a mess as soon as I cleaned it up.  It was good enough but it probably could have used a few more cleanings!
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- I did do the dishes on night which was great but some nights there were so many that I got some done and couldn't finish or sadly, did them all and then made cookies which made more dishes which I didn't get washed because the last batch of cookies came out at about 11:30 so I going to drop.
Blog Goals
  • Post one post everyday (schedule 7 posts so that can spend more time with family)- Done
  • Review book reviews completed during the week (if done)- Done (and way too much reading this week so there are a bunch of posts coming up)
  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week- I worked on a few posts but I had a bunch more that I need to get done.  I guess rough drafts are a good start for now and then I can get some work done as soon as my little man goes back to school
  • Post Sunday Weekly Goals, Menu Plan Monday, Kid Wednesday and Thrifty Thursday Tip- Done
