Weekly Goals 6/2

An exhausting week for me ending in a trip to my college alumni weekend.  We always enjoy a trip to the relaxing Eastern Shore of Maryland but it seems like there is just as much preparation needed as a vacation with so much less time.  We hope to have a good week next week (trying to hold out again the heat as much as possible).  I know that we are going to have at least one afternoon at a park but I still don't know when yet because we have to look at the weather.  Three hours in the park on Friday was more heat and humidity then I could take.  I think that I have to build up a tolerance to it and I am just not there yet this year.  Here is hoping that you are having a little cooler weather where you are!!

This Week:

Family Goals
  • Spend time with family- We had a super busy week and I had to have my husband come home from work twice because the air conditioning and I had PT that my little guy was going to go to but he fell asleep.  It is a life saver to have him so close and have a flexible schedule because keeping my little man cooped up in the house is a bad plan for everyone!
  • Air conditioning installation- Yeah!  Super glad that it isn't 80 degrees inside the house now.
  • Meet friends at the park for a picnic- I like to work something for little man into the plans everyday so I decided to go to the library near PT and then head over to PT and finish with a picnic and playtime in the park near PT.  That was my little guy has something on both sides of my appointment to keep him entertained.  We had a great time and were super glad that our friends could meet up with us after school for them!!
  • Playdate at friends houseWe went to a playdate at a friends house and then went to the park.  The boys had a blast.
  • Storytime at Barnes and Noble- The storytimes at Barnes and Noble aren't as put together as the library ones but my son looks forward to them because there is a Thomas train table to play with before and after storytime and they do crafts.  We had a coloring page and made a flag this time.
  • My Gym and 2-3 free plays- We tried to make it to three free plays this week but the little man fell asleep in the car on the way to the second one.  It is always a hard time frame for him to get into going but when he woke up he was really sad that he missed it.  Daddy promised a free play on Monday or Tuesday night next week so he is really looking forward to showing Daddy around my gym because he has never been.
Personal Goals
  • Cut coupons- I cut all my coupons, sorted my printed coupons and got rid of expired coupons before the end of the three day weekend.  I was super happy to get them all done and cleaned up but I still wasn't totally ready for the super double start.  I was glad that I got at least a little organized :)
  • Get coupons on Friday- I planned on the library on Friday so that I would be there to get the paper.  I almost missed last Friday because it seems that the whole week is a blur anymore!!  I didn't get the papers the first time that we were there because it was so rushed but we went back after PT and got all of them!
  • Go to PT for TMJ twice- I had been really sore and she worked me out good at my first appointment so I spent a lot of time with ice on my face that night but luckily woke up feeling better the next day.  The thing with 2 times a week is that you don't have a lot of recovery time but it all worked out well!
  • Shut off computer 6 nights to save energy- I was super tired and went to bed early on Wednesday and forgot to shut off the computer.  Other than that, I remembered for the rest of the week!
  • Finish reading Blogging for Books book- Read and review is posted.
  • Read next Spenser book and started on the next Debbie Macomber book :)
  • Read more books about science and math to figure out some summer plans- I started reading one book but I realized that I needed to take so many notes that I needed to do it when I could sit at the computer at the same time and type up the ideas or I would just forget them by the end of the book.
Home Management Goals
  • Clean dishes, counters and floors at least 5 days of the week- I have tried to clean the kitchen all week.  It got much easier after we got the air conditioner replaced because it was so humid and hard to get things done before!  Glad we are back in the land of the cool!!
  • Clean dishes one night and not wait until the morning- Umm, I cleaned up most nights and ran the dishwasher when needed but I didn't clean the counters to totally clean until Thursday night.  It is a good reason after a hard week why we have any easy meal.  It was just a few dishes and we ate a little earlier then we had been so that there was time
Blog Goals

  • Post one post everyday (schedule 7 posts so that can spend more time with family)- I posted a lot over the three day weekend to get ready for the week.  I had it all scheduled mostly ahead of time and got the rest up before it was time.
  • Review book reviews completed during the week (if done)- Done
  • Work on a few posts to work ahead for the coming week- I posted all of the Menu Plans for the month and a few Thrifty Thursdays so that I have a little more posted for the rest of June.  I am hoping to get a few more posts up each night to get more of the framework for the month set but we have been a little busy.
  • Post Weekly Goals, Menu Plan Monday, and Thrifty Thursday Tip- Done
