My Super Bowl Shopping 2/3

I took a few minute to head to the store to get a few things over the weekend without thinking that it was Super Bowl Sunday and all those last minute shoppers would be at the store.

I stopped at CVS first because there was a sale on Olive Oil that I can never pass up.  Especially with a $1 coupon and $2 ECBs burning a hole in my pocket.  The Olive Oil was normally priced at $9.49 and it was on sale for $3.99 which is a great deal in itself without the other additional savings.

Then, I went to Harris Teeter to get the cheese deal and maybe some shredded pork that was on super sale.  They were out of the pork so it had me a little worried about the cheese.  Luckily, I got the last few of the Reduced Fat Mozzarella cheese (that is what the coupon was for).  I saw the Mahatma rice and quickly got out my calculator.  They were normally $0.99 and on sale for $0.80 each.  I had a coupon that I had to dig out of my basket... it was for $0.75/2.  After the doubling, it made them $0.05 for a bag of the yummy spicy saffron rice.  I had two coupons for $1 off any Kikoman product so I used them on the Fried Rice packets to get them free.  The last stop was the juice aisle to get the Ocean Spray which was on sale for B1G1 or $1.90.  I grabbed all of the Cran Grape that they had on the shelf and got three of the White Cran Strawberry.

Total Savings $32.41

I went to get my rain checks on the items that they didn't have but I had a nagging feeling that there was something else that I needed.  I thought and I thought but I couldn't come up with it.  I decided it was just brain overload but when I got to the car to put the groceries in, I saw the bag with the rain checks and realized that I needed to get eggs (with a rain check which was in the car) because we only had two left in the house.  Can you believe that I had to pass up baking because I didn't have enough eggs???

I grabbed the rain check and coupons and headed back into the store which was no super busy with Super Bowl customers.  I got the eggs that were best with the coupon and rain check combination and decided to grab some more rice.  I got to the check out and there were three people in front of me which doesn't usually happen at Harris Teeter (unless it is Super Doubles) and almost all the cash registers were open.

Total OOP $1.11
Total Savings $8.64 + $3.69 for rain check= $12.33
