The Limpopo Academy of Private Dectection Book Review

The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection: No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (13) by Alexander McCall Smith jumped off the page when I saw it listed on Amazon.  I didn't even know that he had a new book out yet!!!  I signed up on the library website and I was 196th in line....  no joke!  I was checking out some other books at the library and it was sitting there on the shelf.  I had my son in tow and said to myself, "Is it worth it to walk all the way back and check this out?"  OF COURSE!!!  We with diaper bag and huge bag of books walked back and got mommy one more book.  I was super excited to read this and since the new releases have a 14 day loan with no renewal, I had a deadline!!
This book was particularly good (of course I think that after I finish each one that it was better then the last one).  The Detective Agency was working on two problems throughout the book so it was more concentrated on their family and friends and not the whole community as it often is.  I think that it is fascinating to see Mme Ramotswe work.  She gets to the bottom of each issue (although this one took awhile because it was a little too close to home).  One of the apprentices is in legal trouble, the matron of the orphan farm was dismissed from her job, and the newlyweds are building their first house.  All of these issues are happening at the same time and cause lots of challenges.  I am always entertained by reading this books and  I think that others will be too.

Read it!!  If you haven't read the other books in the series, I highly recommend starting at the beginning.  The best part of picking up this late in the series is because you don't have to wait for the next one to come out because there are already 13 books.  Of course, I think that might just be me who likes to read from the start to the end because my mom picks up any book in the series and reads it without knowing what happened in the last book.  Are there others out there that like to start at the beginning???  Check it out from the library or pick it up at your local bookstore.  I can't wait for the next book!!!
