Harris Teeter Shopping Trip 2/9

After running errands all day and coming home to have some lunch, my son and I got back in the car and went to Harris Teeter.  He loves Harris Teeter so it isn't much of a fight to get him there.  We got his orange balloon when we walked in the door and he spent the time reading the balloon over and over too me.  It says Hi Kids!!!  Not exactly interesting but to a three year old, it is facinating!  Then we got his cookies from the dinosaur.  I break them up in and put them in a container hoping that they will last through the store.  We stopped at the chickens first.  They only had two left so I grabbed them thinking that I wouldn't be able to get any others and I was counting on the great price of $0.77 per pound.  Then I flew past the tortillas and backed up since I still haven't made the corn tortillas and I was suposed to yesterday so I grabbed a package half off made it only $0.94.  Can't really beat that price!!  We got bread next which was a great sale of $1.19.  This seems to be my sons favorite bread for his sandwiches and it stays fresh the longest so I am willing to go out of my way to get it.  Then we pushed over to the cough drop aisle.  The Ricola are a family favorite and they were on sale for B1G1 and I had a $1/2 coupon so it worked out to $0.59 per bag!!!!  I got 6 since I had a limit of 3 coupons to use.  I spent $20.69 oop and saved $20.54.

It was way more then I was suposed to spend today but I really couldn't pass up the price on the chicken plus I think that I am going to use one on Sunday for dinner.  The total for the month is $94.32 spent and $248.00 saved.  The total cost would have been $342.32.  That is a total of 72.4% savings.  I think that I should focus on that and not on the fact that super doubles is next week and I only have $65.68 left for the month.  I spent way more then that last month at super doubles.  Have I ever wished there to be bad sales during super doubles before?  Actually, I still think that it might work out okay if I don't need much for the following two weeks which I think is going to be okay other than bread and milk (and maybe a Sunday paper).  Only time will tell when I see the ad for Super Doubles.  I guess I better get the rest of my coupons cut soon so that I am ready to go!!  Hope that your month is going right on track :)
