The Storekeeper's Daughter Book Review

I was doing my best to go through my shelf of unread books that I got for free mostly last summer but over the last year at different library events when I found a book that was part of a series.  I looked at the library and they had the rest of the series at my local library so I decided to grab it the next time that I was there.  I just read the first book in the series Storekeeper's Daughter (DAUGHTERS OF LANCASTER COUNTY) by Wanda E. Brunstetter!  I can't wait to pick up the rest after not being able to put this one down.

Time seems to stand still in Naomi Fisher's tranquil community, but it cannot hold back tragedy. Helping her widowed father run a store, manage a household, and raise seven children is a daunting task. There is no time to think about courtship or having her own family, though her heart yearns for the attention of Caleb Hoffmeir. But her days are plotted for her-until the afternoon her baby brother disappears from the yard. How can Naomi expect anyone to love and trust her if she can't take care of one small boy? Should she leave all that is familiar and seek a new avenue of life? The Storekeeper's Daughter is book 1 in the bestselling Daughters of Lancaster County series now available in mass market.

This book was a great story following the story of the storekeeper's daughter, Naomi.  She makes a deathbed promise to watch all her brothers and sisters as her mom is laying dying and she is left to raise 7 brothers and sisters, keep house, run the store and do all of both her and her mom's responsibilities.  Her father is grieving and therefore unable to help and support her or let her live her own life.  She has given up everything to make sure that she helps her family by even giving up her own chance at a future family.  Everything changes when her brother is kidnapped and she changes her life forever but you have to pick up the book to find out what happens.  I think that you will be surprised...I know that I was!  I hope that you check out this book and the rest in the series.  I can't wait to read the next one!!
