Blue Screen Book Review

Blue Screen (Sunny Randall) by Robert B. Parker is the fifth book in the Sunny Randall series.  I was determined to not plow through this book so I "took it slow."  Can I tell you that it is super hard with these books because they have such short chapters that you think, just one more.  If there is always one more, it makes it hard to ever put it down.  Just be prepared when you pick up the books :)

"Blue Screen" was about a movie producer, Buddy, and film star, Erin, that hired Sunny to watch out for Erin during her newest movie release and starting to play in major league baseball.  During this time,  Erin's personal assistant, Misty, is murdered.  Sunny is told to use her expertise to work with the local cops to investigate the murder.  The local police chief is Jesse Stone (from Robert Parker's other series).  During the process, Sunny uncovers the real names and backgrounds of Erin and Misty, as well as their backgrounds.   At the same time, Sunny is dealing with the fact that her ex-husband who is now remarried is having a baby.  Sunny works with Jesse to narrow down the suspects and eventually catch the murderer.

I highly recommend all of the Robert Parker novels.   I read the Jesse Stone novels first and then started with the Spenser series which I about 30 books into but I started reading the Sunny Randall series because my mom gave me the first two in the series which I read while waiting for more Spenser books to come into the library.  I was hooked and since there are only six books in the series, I decided to stick with it all the way through until I switched back to the Spenser novels.  I was super excited to see Jesse Stone introduced into this book and Susan Silverman (from the Spenser series) in the last book and this book!!  I love the cross over of the series since they all work in surrounding towns.  I hope that you check out one of the series and let me know what you think!!
