I got the next book in the series started shortly after the last book and it was my 7th book for the month which I started 8 days into the month. I was doing a pretty good job of reading a book a day so I tried to slow it down by working on a few other projects first and then starting the book. Willowleaf Lane
Candy shop owner Charlotte Caine knows temptation. To reboot her life,
shed weight and gain perspective, she's passing up sweet enticements
left and right. But willpower doesn't come so easily when hell-raiser
Spencer Gregory comes back to Hope's Crossing, bringing with him
memories of broken promises and teen angst. A retired pro baseball
player on the mend from injury—and a damaging scandal—he's interested in
his own brand of reinvention. Now everything about Spencer's
new-and-improved lifestyle, from his mission to build a rehab facility
for injured veterans to his clear devotion to his preteen daughter,
Peyton, touches Charlotte's heart. Holding on to past hurt is her only
protection against falling for him—again. But if she takes the risk,
will she find in Spencer a hometown heartbreaker, or the hero she's
always wanted?
I loved it again! I know that I sound like a broken record but why would I give up on a series that I have liked all of the books so far. I enjoyed the story of the fallen hometown hero coming back and trying to make a life for himself and his daughter after all the scandal that has affected their lives. It is also great to get to know Charlotte who was in the last book a lot but learning more about her life certainly helped me understand her more and sympathize with her. I hope that you check out this great book the next time you are at the library. It is amazing and I know that you have to add it to your must read list.
