The second book in the Sisters of the Quilt series is When the Morning Comes by Cindy Woodsmall which was next on my list to read. After the tough start to the first book, I was ready to read this book and flew through it. It was a great book after the first book which was so heavy. Although this followed the same characters and same subject matter, I was ready to find out some resolution.
In this book, Hannah leaves her Amish community and all of her friends and family with no way for them to contact her. She goes in search of her aunt Zabeth who is her fathers twin sister who was shunned many years ago and Hannah didn't even know. She boards a train and leaves the only home that she has ever known without a plan. She tries to learn the new world of the Englishers by fitting into her Aunt's sort of plain life and the fancy life of those around her. The hole that Hannah left in her home town was felt by all of her loved ones. Her father refuses to look for her and no one wants to disagree with him. The longer that Hannah is gone, the odder Sarah's behavior gets. Sarah has guilt over loosing her sister from the lies that she told and her behavior starts to get so strange that others notice. While Hannah's family is falling apart, she is trying to rebuild her new life.
I loved it! I was so ready for the third book and excited that I had already gotten it from the library so there was no waiting between books. I love finding books after they have already released the whole series because it is way easier then waiting for the next publishing date. I hope that you enjoy this series as much as I did but make sure to start at the beginning. To make it easy, they have put the series and the book number on the front cover. I love when they do it because the names are close together and I often have to have my list in hand so with this, I can pick them up at the library on the fly. I hope you try out this series and see what you think!!!
