Sensible
Arrangement, A (Lone Star Brides) by Tracie Peterson was a book that I got to review through the publisher. I was glad to get the book and I was going to read it when it came in but I was in the middle of the book. I knew that I needed to read it next but then things got a little crazy when we went out of town for two weeks to be with my grandmother. There was a delay in me getting anything done during this time but I did bring the book with me. I planned on starting it and getting it done in time for the deadline of today. Then, I didn't get time to start it until the 13th. UGH! Well, not a problem because even though I worked for 7 hours at my aunt's office and I still finished it by the 14th.
In this book, Marty Olson has lost her husband in a farming accident and continued to run the farm but she is very sad being stuck in Texas where all the memories are. Marty answers an advertisement for a Lone Star bride for a man from Texas who is living in Colorado. She goes on a trip to visit some friends and on the way to her new life, she has quiet the adventure. Jake Wythe is the man that she agrees to marry. He was also widowed and needs to have a wife to show the people on his banks board that he is a settled man. They agree to have a marriage of companionship and convenience instead of love. In the process, their trial and tribulations bring them closer together so you will have to pick up the the book to see what they go through and how they grow.
I enjoyed this book because it was a great love story and there was always something going on that was really interesting. I didn't want to put the book down and had lots of information about the historical references. I guess that is why it took me less than two days to read it while still visiting with family and friends and working. It was interesting and educational at the same time!! I don't think that it was something that I would normally pick out and that is all the more reason why I am super glad to be part of the Litfuse Publishing review group and got the opportunity to pick out this book! I highly recommend that you check it out too because you will enjoy the quick pace of the story with the great characters. Check this book out at your local library or bookstore to see what you think!
