The Garage Sale Gal's Guide to Making Money Book Review

Garage Sale Gal's Guide to Making Money Off Your Stuff, The by Lynda Hammond was calling my name from the new book section.  My friend, Amy, just asked me if I would like to come and sell some of our stuff at their community garage sale!!! Umm yes,  sounds like a great opportunity because I know that they will have a lot of traffic so I am excited to try to beat my earning in the last two garage sales.  I am going to have to dig deep in the basement to find all of the treasures that are still hidden so I know that I have my work cut out for me.  If this book could help, I thought I owed it to Amy to do my homework.

There was a section on garage sales, consignment/thrift stores, antique stores, pawn shops, online outlets and so much more.  It was an interesting book that actually said that you could make more money at a sale if you didn't price the items.  I am sure that could be true because people don't want to offer something that is offensive but I think that is so much easier to price so that people don't have to guess and you don't have to make it up on the spot.  It is a big jump to make but I guess I shouldn't worry if I don't get some things marked because I can pretend it was on purpose and not because I ran out of time!!

If you are going to go to sales or are interested in selling things, it is a really interesting book.  This book is a good resource and a fast read.  Check it out and let me know what you think!!
