Spare Change Book Review

Spare Change (Sunny Randall) by Robert B. Parker was the sixth and final book in the Sunny Randall series.  It was bitter sweet to get to the end of the series.  It was a great read that I got through all six books in one month!!  I know that it would have been nice to stretch it out a little but a good mystery keeps you wanting more.  When I finish one, it takes all my strength to start straight into the next one.

This book was about a serial killer called the Spare Change killer who killed victims and left specific coins near their head.  The case started when Sunny's father, Phil, was a cop and he was lead on the task force before he retired.  The killer was never caught because the killings stopped.  The killings began again and Phil was brought in as a consultant and he brought in Sunny.  The book was spent following around the killer and trying to make sure that they got him.  It wasn't a big mystery because they revealed the guilty party early in the book but it still kept you on the edge of your seat if they were going to catch him or if it was going to be someone else.  I really enjoyed this book and it might be my favorite in the series but it is hard to tell because I always think that the last book that I read was the best!!!

I recommend this book highly (as do I most of the other Robert Parker books).  If you are looking for a new author to try out, I highly recommend trying Robert Parker.  I hope that you check them out sometime soon and I look forward to hearing what you think!
