I got this one off the shelf at the library while I was there with my son for a library program so I didn't get his help picking the books out like I usually do because he loves looking for the next number in the series. He saw the book laying on the dining room table and he said EIGHTEEN!!!! When did you finish Smokin' Seventeen? I laughed because not only did he remember what number I was working on before, he remembered the name! What a great memory since I have to look at the back of the book to see if I read it before if I don't check my blog before I leave for the library! In case you haven't figured it out, I was reading Explosive
Eighteen (Stephanie Plum) by Janet Evanovich.
In this book, Stephanie is just returning from her trip to Hawaii and there is a lot of questions about her trip but she only says that it is confusing. What you learn might amaze you! Her troubles start before she even gets home because the person that was sitting next to her on the plane slipped a picture into her bag and turns up dead in the airport. Since the picture wasn't her's, she trashed it and didn't even think about it again until to people show up at her door claiming to be FBI agents. It turns out that they were not and the real FBI agents show up a little later that same day. There are many people now looking for the picture that she threw out and no one believes that she doesn't have it. At the same time, she is dealing with her normal crazy life with trying to get the FTAs as a bounty hunter. Everything gets more and more crazy with the men in her life fighting over her, three different people trying to kill her over the picture and trying to catch some crazy bad guys. You have to pick this book up to find out but it feels like the best one yet to me!!! (of course I often thing that after reading a book so I might have said this earlier in the series too).
I loved it! This might be the first one where Stephanie is dealing with the confusion over her feelings for Morelli and Ranger for real so it was good to see. There are only so many books where she can go back and forth and not pick, of course she still didn't pick but she has trouble so it makes me a little happy that she had true emotions. She decided that she was going to give up men (which has never worked for her in the past). I hope that you pick up this book at your local library or bookstore to check out all of the crazy situations that Stephanie gets into!!
